Side Note, President Hilton Robertson

HiltonRobertsonIn researching these good people, Elder Miner’s father learned that the first mission president over the Far East, which at the time included Taiwan, was Hilton A. Robertson. Pres. Robertson served as president of the mission from 1949 – 1953. After being mission president, years later, President Robertson was called as stake patriarch of Elder Miner’s father’s stake in Provo, and gave him his patriarchal blessing. When he entered Patriarch Robertson’s home for the blessing, he saw a complete oriental décor, where he sat in the living room for his blessing. He marveled at the sight and thought about the history behind this man that he would never know, or so he thought. That changed many years later. A tender mercy from Heavenly Father to Elder Miner and his father.
